1/17/2020
ABBOTTSTOWN – Veterans and their families who live in the 193rd Legislative District have another avenue to seek help with obtaining benefits after Rep. Torren Ecker (R-Adams/Cumberland) teamed up with the Cumberland County Veterans Affairs Office.

Ecker now offers assistance hours at his South Middletown office, located in the South Middleton Township building, 520 Park Drive, Boiling Springs, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the third Wednesday of each month. The next day assistance will be offered is Feb. 19. In the coming months, assistance will be offered on March 18, April 15 and May 20.

Danny Osten, director of the Cumberland County Veterans Affairs Office, will be on hand to assist veterans. Appointments must be made in advance. To schedule an appointment, call Ecker’s office at 717-259-7802.

“Veterans gave so much in the service of our nation and I am proud to have the opportunity to assist them and their families,” Ecker said. “Navigating benefits available to veterans can be stressful and confusing. A trained professional can help and lessens the stress.”

Veterans who live in the Adams County portion of Ecker’s district can continue to receive assistance at his Abbottstown office, located at 282 W. King St. Paul DeVincenzo, a service officer with the American Legion, and Stan Clark, director of the Adams County Veterans Affairs Office, are available to help. Those interested in scheduling an appointment must call Ecker’s office at 717-259-7802 to set up a meeting.
