Ecker Announces Funding for Carlisle Airport
August 28, 2019
SOUTH MIDDLETON TOWNSHIP – The Carlisle Airport was awarded $90,000 in funding to improve runway approach lighting, Rep. Torren Ecker (R-Adams/Cumberland) announced today.
“This funding will help push plans to improve the airport in order for it to meet community needs for years to come,” Ecker said. “Carlisle Airport plays a role in not only providing transportation options, but is also home to air ambulances, a vital part of the area’s emergency response.”
The funding is through the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s Aviation Transportation Assistance Program, Aviation Development Program and the Multimodal Fund. The funds are used to infuse new state investments to expand aviation-related operational and economic opportunities statewide.
