HARRISBURG – Department of Labor & Industry (L&I) Acting Secretary Jennifer Berrier could not provide answers to basic questions – such as how many businesses were forced to shutter when Gov. Tom Wolf ordered non-essential businesses to close at the start of the pandemic about a year ago and how many of those businesses are now permanently closed – even though the department tracks that data.
Rep. Torren Ecker (R-Adams/Cumberland) posed the questions, which were not answered, during the House Appropriations Committee budget hearing on Tuesday.
