HARRISBURG – At the second Performance-Based Budgeting hearing, members heard from officials from the Department of Aging and Department of Human Services, said Rep. Torren Ecker (R-Adams/Cumberland), who sits on the bicameral panel.

“The departments before us today provide valuable services to some of our most vulnerable residents,” Ecker said. “By thoroughly reviewing how the departments are providing these services, we can ensure they are provided in a cost-effect manner so anyone who needs assistance is not turned away.”

Ecker, a member of the House Appropriations Committee, was appointed to represent House Republicans at the hearings by Chairman Stan Saylor (R-York). At each hearing, members review performance reports that were completed by the nonpartisan Independent Fiscal Office. Members also heard from representatives of the respective state agencies.
