Ecker Honors Small Businesses
May 13, 2019
HARRISBURG ¬– With more than 2.5 million Pennsylvania workers employed by small businesses, the House approved a resolution by Rep. Torren Ecker (R-Adams/Cumberland) to honor this key component of the Commonwealth’s economy.
“Small businesses are the backbone of the economy. These business help create the sense of community we all enjoy,” Ecker said. “These businesses range from the small mom-and-pop store down the street to the family-owned farm, and from the local pizzeria to the small manufacturing facility.”
Small businesses employ nearly half of Pennsylvania’s workers, making it a large and important aspect of our economy. Ecker’s House Resolution 301 marked National Small Business Week, which ran from May 5-11.
“Though my resolution set aside just a single week to honor small businesses, I encourage consumers to support small businesses throughout the year,” Ecker said.
