HARRISBURG – With bipartisan support, the House of Representatives today unanimously approved a bill by Rep. Torren Ecker (R-Adams/Cumberland) to require Gov. Tom Wolf’s administration to retain records created during the COVID-19 emergency declaration for an extended time period.

Little did we all know in February when our groundhog predicted an early spring that this year’s spring would be especially dreary. The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted all of us, and we have all felt some type of anxiety as a result of it. Many fear the real health consequences of the virus because of their age, medical condition or having at-risk family members. Others struggle with the reality that the kitchen table has become the office, classroom and place to eat. Some have been sucked into the endless number of headlines and breaking news stories that send our heads spinning with worry and confusion. However, by far, the most fearful, nervous folks that I have interacted with over the past six weeks are those who do not know when their next paycheck is coming.

Diamond, Klunk, Ecker Sponsor Bill to Open Local Garden Centers

HARRISBURG - Rep. Russ Diamond (R-Lebanon) has introduced House Bill 2429, which would grant a waiver to the governor's COVID-19 Business Closure Order to all lawn and garden equipment and supplies stores that can adhere to the social distancing practices and other mitigation measures defined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), effectively opening them up for in-person operations.

Our entire world has been turned upside by the COVID-19 pandemic. Trips to the grocery store are now filled with anxiety and our ability to socialize with loved ones and friends has been curtailed like never before. Despite the uncertainty and fear caused by this pandemic, it has been wonderful to see the American spirit not only remain, but also thrive, especially right here in Adams and Cumberland counties.
